No, I do not accept insurance at this time. Even though I am located in a chiropractor's office, we are separate entities and accept different payment methods.
  • Will I have to undress completely?
No, you may dress down to your comfort level. Most clients will leave their underwear on and nothing else, but you may take off or leave on as much as you feel comfortable.

Yes, you will be covered by a sheet and blankets. Each part of the body will be uncovered as it is massaged and then recovered when that area is done being massaged. Towel draping is not allowed.
  • May I talk during my massage?
Yes, you may talk during your session or remain quiet. The choice is yours. However, communicating about your desired pressure, pain areas, and any discomfort is strongly encouraged during the massage so that the session is a wonderful experience.
  • How can massage help?
Everyone knows massage decreases muscle pain and tension, yet are you aware that massage also affects the mind? At Point Clear Wellness, I use gentle massage techniques to calm the nervous system, promoting deep relaxation of the mind and body. This deep relaxation stimulates the body's natural Rest and Digest response and promotes better sleep, improved cognitive ability, a better response to stress, more energy, and less anxiety. These benefits can easily last several days, and regular treatments can improve your daily life.
  • What is the importance of having a massage once a month?
Regular massages offer numerous physical and mental health benefits, making them an essential part of a balanced wellness routine. Having one or more massages per month can significantly reduce stress, alleviate chronic pain, and improve overall mood. The therapeutic touch of a professional massage enhances muscle flexibility, improves posture, and promotes better sleep. Additionally, shorter periods between massages amplify these benefits. Frequent sessions can lead to faster recovery from injuries, more consistent relief from muscle tension, and a deeper sense of relaxation. Regular massages also help reduce anxiety, enhance mental clarity, and improve overall emotional well-being. For those with demanding schedules, regular massages provide a much-needed respite, helping to maintain energy levels and focus. Investing in regular massage therapy, especially with shorter intervals, is an investment in your long-term health and well-being. This ensures you stay at your best both physically and mentally. Book your monthly or bi-weekly massage today and experience the transformative benefits for yourself.
  • What’s the difference between SER and Craniosacral Therapy?
While Craniosacral Therapy (CST) focuses primarily on the craniosacral system to promote physical healing, SER explicitly incorporates an emotional component. SER blends CST techniques with dialogue to facilitate emotional awareness and release.
  • What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Created in the 1970's by Dr. John Upledger, Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle therapy that evaluates and helps balance the craniosacral system, which is comprised of the cerebral spinal fluid and the membranes that house it in the brain and the spinal cord. As your nervous system absorbs the stress and strain of daily life, tension is created in the body. However, your body can only take so much strain before this tension creates dysfunctions. This may negatively affect various body systems, most notably the central nervous system which is housed within the craniosacral system. Please visit our Craniosacral Therapy page HERE for more information.
  • Will I be completely covered during Craniosacral Therapy?
Yes, you will be covered by a sheet and blankets. You do not undress for a Craniosacral Massage.
  • What is Somatic Emotional Release therapy?
Somatic Emotional Release therapy is a body-mind approach to healing that aims to release emotional and physical traumas stored in the body's tissues. It builds upon Craniosacral Therapy principles and involves gentle touch and guided dialogue.
  • How does Somatic Emotional Release work?
Practitioners use light touch to identify areas of tension in the body where emotions might be stored. Through gentle manipulation and talking, clients are guided to release these "energy cysts," thought to be the locations where trauma is held.
  • What’s the difference between Somatic Emotional Release and Craniosacral Therapy?
While Craniosacral Therapy (CST) focuses primarily on the craniosacral system to promote physical healing, SER explicitly incorporates an emotional component. Somatic Emotional Release (SER) blends CST techniques with dialogue to facilitate emotional awareness and release.
  • What are the benefits of Somatic Emotional Release?
Benefits often include reduced physical tension, improved emotional awareness, and relief from stress or trauma. Some clients report improvements in sleep, mental clarity, and pain reduction.
  • Is Somatic Emotional Release effective for relieving stress, trauma, or chronic pain?
Many practitioners and clients believe SER is effective for these issues, often as part of a broader wellness plan. However, scientific evidence is mostly anecdotal, so results vary.
  • Can Somatic Emotional Release help with emotional issues like anxiety or depression?
Some clients find that SER can alleviate anxiety and depression by addressing the physical manifestations of these conditions. It's best used as a complementary approach alongside traditional mental health therapies.
  • What should I expect during a Somatic Emotional Release session?
During a session, you may lie fully clothed on a treatment table. The practitioner will gently touch or hold areas of your body while guiding you through relaxation or dialogue. You might feel a release of tension, emotions, or other sensations.
  • Is Somatic Emotional Release safe for everyone?
It's generally safe, though people with recent injuries, medical conditions affecting cranial pressure, or certain mental health conditions should consult their healthcare provider first.
  • How many Somatic Emotional Release sessions are typically needed for noticeable results?
The number of sessions varies based on the individual's needs and conditions. Some notice changes after one or two sessions, while others require ongoing treatment.
  • What should I look for in a Somatic Emotional Release therapist?
Look for therapists trained and certified through recognized organizations, with positive client reviews. They should be approachable, empathetic, and respectful of your comfort.
  • How can I find a qualified Somatic Emotional Release practitioner near me?
Check with the Upledger Institute or other relevant certification organizations or search online directories specializing in holistic or complementary health practices.
  • What kind of training do Somatic Emotional Release therapists receive?
Training typically involves courses and certification through institutes like the Upledger Institute. Practitioners often come from backgrounds in massage therapy, osteopathy, or physical therapy.
  • How does Somatic Emotional Release compare to other bodywork therapies?
Unlike standard massage therapy, SER combines light touch with emotional exploration. It's more focused on the emotional aspects compared to other bodywork therapies, which often concentrate solely on physical manipulation.
  • Can SER be combined with other therapies like massage or counseling?
Yes, SER can complement other therapies like massage, chiropractic care, or counseling to provide a comprehensive approach to healing.
  • Does Fibromyalgia respond well to gentle massage?
At Point Clear Wellness, I understand that the pain and discomfort you are feeling from Fibromyalgia is real. I also know that each case is different for every client. With that knowledge, I aim to customize your massage session for optimized pain relief, better sleep, and less brain fog. The good news is Fibromyalgia responds very well to gentle massage. Gentle touch with massage or Craniosacral Therapy calms the overactive and hyper-vigilant nervous system that creates the pain flares, insomnia, and brain fog. I start each session with a short consultation to understand how you have been feeling, any symptoms, and if there have been any improvements from your last session. I like to keep track of your progress with a small form which I will give you at each session. This way, we will have a concrete visual representation of your healing journey.
  • What do Fibromyalgia, stress, and anxiety have in common? An overtaxed nervous system?"
The nervous system controls the body's "Fight or Flight" response to stress. The response helps to protect the body from danger. The nervous system sends signals to the body to ready itself for action, then after the threat is over, the body is supposed to resume a normal rest or neutral response. However, when someone is under chronic stress or suffering from fibromyalgia or anxiety, the nervous system is constantly in the "Fight or Flight" response. It can't shut off, and the body stays hyper-vigilant, eventually causing dysfunctions throughout the body, such as tense muscles, inability to sleep, digestive issues, and impaired cognitive abilities. Every system in the body is affected making it a whole body disease. Please visit our Fibromyalgia FAQ page HERE for more information.
